Heading B7L. [Also in Divisions B8 and D1] A trolley from which empty cans are unloaded into a sliver depositing device (see Division D1) or on to which filled cans are loaded is hitched to a cable or a rack-and-pinion device for movement between two positions so that the unloading or loading can be completed. In Fig. 7 a hitch 44 is riveted to a cable 31 and comprises a guide 41 which can run on a rail 40, and a projection 45 mounted on plate 42 supported by a block 43. By means of a bolt 50 attached to the trolley the latter can be moved in the direction P 3 when the cable is moved. In another construction (Fig. 13) trolleys 7 and 8 are held by pins in holes 82 in catches 80 forming part of a hitch 51. The hitch which has a rack 64 geared to a motor 65 (Fig. 11, not shown), has wheels 74 running on the base of girders 75 and guide runners 73 on the edges of the girders. The trolleys are pushed away by springs 83 when a lever 76 releases the catches 80. |
