摘要 If an object type determining unit (12) determines that the type of an object in a real space corresponding to an image portion extracted from a captured image is a pedestrian crossing a road, a distance calculating unit (13) performs first distance calculation processing of calculating the distance between the object in the real space corresponding to the image portion extracted from the captured image and a vehicle (1) according to the height of the image portion on the basis of correlation between the distance from the vehicle (1) in the real space and the height of the image portion in the captured image set for an assumed height of the pedestrian. If the object type determining unit (12) determines that the type of the object is not a pedestrian crossing a road, the distance calculating unit (13) performs second distance calculation processing of calculating the distance between the object and the vehicle on the basis of a change in the area of image portions of the object extracted from time-series images captured by an infrared camera (2).
