Disclosed are a method for compressing a TCP header and a recording medium recording the same. the method for compressing a TCP header in accordance with an aspect of the present invention includes a step of storing an initial value of the TCP header according to a connection packet when connection with a correspondent node using a TCP/IP protocol is completed and a step of generating a TCP compression header including a compression method field on which a compression method of predetermined contents of the TCP header is individually recorded and a compression value field on which a compression value of the predetermined contents is recorded according to the compression method based on the initial value by analyzing the TCP header of a transmission packet transmitted to the correspondent node. According to the present invention the TCP/IP protocol can be efficiently applied to a low power WRAN transmitting and receiving a small amount of packets by compressing the TCP header.
