METHOD OF LOCAL HARDENING STEEL PARTS

摘要

A method of surface hardening parts consists in formation of a surface hardened layer of an exothermic mixture by process of self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS), which is initiated by corona discharge and subsequent plastic deformation of the part surface. The surface to be hardened is subject to treatment by SHS reaction in conjunction with corona discharge energy under different longitudinal feeds, interelectrode gaps and thicknesses of applied exothermic mixture and smoothing the surface by a ceramic indenter.
