The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a heat insulation material using a blast furnace slag. The method comprises: a mixing step of mixing cement, clay, gypsum, and organic sludge and the blast furnace slag generated during a steel making process; a compression-molding step of compression-molding a mixture mixed in the mixing step; a sintering step of sintering a molded product that is compression-molded in the compression-molding step; and a cooling step of cooling a sintered product. Moreover, the present invention provides a heat insulation material including 20 to 70 parts by weight of slag aggregate, 10 to 20 parts by weight of cement, 10 to 30 parts by weight of clay, 10 to 15 parts by weight of gypsum, and 3-10 parts by weight of organic sludge.
