Proposed is a drain apparatus (9) in a sink (1), in particular, a kitchen sink, which has a drainage valve (10) for opening and closing a drain opening (8) arranged in the kitchen sink, wherein the drain apparatus (9) has a venting valve (14). Further proposed is a method for venting a drain apparatus (9) in a sink (1), in particular, a kitchen sink, wherein the drain apparatus (9) is provided with a venting valve (14) coupled to a drainage valve (10), said method comprising the following steps: opening the drainage valve (10), wherein water from a basin (2) of the sink (1) passes the drainage valve (10) and flows through a drain (28), and/or draining water from the basin (2) via an overflow and an overflow unit (13) which is fluidically connected to the drain (28); holding the venting valve (14) open until a predetermined water pressure and/or water level is reached in the drain (28); closing the venting valve (14) when the predetermined water pressure/water level is reached in the drain (28), in particular, when a float (26) in the venting valve (14) is reached by the draining water and is raised, thereby closing the venting valve (14). |
