METHOD FOR CORRECTING IMPAIRED BLOOD FLOW IN KIDNEYS WITH EXPERIMENTALLY MODELED ISCHEMIA

The method for correcting the impaired blood flow in the kidneys with experimentally modeled ischemia comprises the use of the basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) administered into the upper pole of the left kidney under experiment using heparin as bFGF carrier, the study of the renal blood flow with angiography and Doppler sonography, morphological examination of both (control and intact) kidneys. bFGF in a form cross-linked with modified heparin is administered at the therapeutic dose within 0.2-20 µg range in a volume of 200 µL transcutaneously into the area of ischemia under sonographic control in 2-5 months following the application of the ligature. The effect of the correction of the impaired blood flow in the kidneys is assessed by measuring the activity of the tubular lysosomal β-galactosidase in the cortical layer of the renal parenchyma. The effect is considered as positive when the enzyme activity exceeds the average control level at least by 30 %.
