Provided are a friction drive device of which a rotary axis is not flexible even if a flat elastic member, inserted into a connection axis unit of the rotary axis, is fixated by the plastic deformation of the connection axis unit; and a geared motor having the friction drive device. In case of the friction drive device (1), the rotation of the rotary axis (2) is transferred to an ordinary rotary member (4) by friction between the flat elastic member (5) and the ordinary rotary member (4), and friction between the ordinary rotary member (4) and a ring type member (3). The ordinary rotary member (4) idles when overload is added to the ordinary rotary member (4). An inner circumference surface of the flat elastic member (5) is pressured towards the other side (L2) by a deformation portion (23a), a plastic deformed circumference of the connection axis unit (23), and an outer circumference surface of the connection axis unit is a spherical rod. In case of the flat elastic member (5), a hanging fitted concave unit is formed on an inner circumference surface of a hole (50) in which the connection axis unit (23) is inserted. Also, the deformation portion (23a) formed by a plastic-deformation is inserted into the hanging fitted concave unit. |
