The present invention relates to an automatic toll collecting system for a multi-lane service and a method thereof. For the service of the multi-lane toll automatic collecting system which collects tolls by using the lanes of the entrance and exit of a tollgate like one lane without a physical separation, the automatic toll collecting system for a multi-lane service and the method thereof lay RFID tags on the road surface of the entrance and exit of the tollgate respectively at a fixed distance and interval in multiple rows and columns and are able to clearly distinguish a charged vehicle from an uncharged vehicle by mutually matching the location and passage time information of a corresponding vehicle with vehicle identification information which is photographed by a separately installed camera by using an RFID communication method when passing the tollgate by installing an RFID reader which is able to read the tags in the vehicle.
