The weighing of vehicles is an important activity for managers and authorities intended to prevent the transport drivers from abusing of infrastructures and damaging the pavement, which cause great expenditures for maintaining affordable and safe levels of service. The weighing of vehicles is the more reliable means for determining these properties in vehicles, though it is not enough for maintaining overloaded vehicles outside the road, since the weighing stations are not operated all the time, and are not tested against evasion of drivers. An alternative to this static procedure is represented by the techniques of weighing in motion, in which the weight of all vehicles is measured while the vehicle is in movement. However, said techniques are expensive and only developed countries are able to condition their roads with these systems. On the other hand, these devices may be installed in a permanent manner in roads, or transported to other roads with special means, by configuring port able equipment for weighing the vehicles in motion. The present invention proposes equipment, which provides the means for sensing the force of the wheels in vehicles over the pavement, through a variation of pressure in the inner portion of a hollow flexible body that contains an air bubble-free liquid at pressure. The equipment has means for sensing the variation of pressure when the vehicles travels over the flexible body filled with hydraulic fluid. In addition, the device has the means for varying the initial pressure of the fluid in the inner portion of the flexible body. The initial pressure control in the fluid in the inner portion of the flexible body prevents the flexible body from collapsing with the circulation of vehicles in motion. |
