The present invention relates to door opening apparatus and method for a smart rack and a method for setting the door opening apparatus. The door opening apparatus of the present invention comprises: a temperature measuring unit for a temperature inside a smart rack; a first door which is positioned at the front of the smart rack and includes a penetration face passing through from the outside to the inside of the smart rack and a frame formed edges of the penetration face; a second door which is positioned at the penetration face while being combined to the first door to be able to be opened; a latch which opens the second door independently from the first door; and a control unit which opens the second door from the first door using the latch if the temperature inside the smart rack, which is measured by the temperature measuring unit, corresponds to a preset temperature condition. According to the present invention, the door opening apparatus can open the door of the smart rack to force the smart rack to be cooled if the temperature inside the smart rack and it is concerned about damage to equipment mounted in the smart rack, thereby minimizing damage to the equipment.
