The method involves displaying a stereoscopic calibration image on a reference auto-stereoscopic screen (1a) and on auto-stereoscopic screens to be calibrated (1b), and acquiring a video sequence by a mobile video acquisition unit (2). The video sequence is acquired during a displacement of the video acquisition unit with regard to the auto-stereoscopic screens. The screens are adjusted such that moment of transition associated with the reference auto-stereoscopic screen coincides with moment of transition associated with auto-stereoscopic screens to be calibrated. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for calibrating a self-calibrating stereoscopic screen (2) a computer program product comprising instructions for performing a method for calibrating a self-calibrating stereoscopic screen (3) a computer readable storage unit with instructions for performing the method for calibrating a self-calibrating stereoscopic screen.
