The present invention relates to an apparatus for connecting a transverse member and a support of s fence and a method for connecting a transverse member of a support using the apparatus capable of easily and conveniently installing, without complex configuration, a support and a transverse member installed in a guard rail and a fence dividing a sidewalk and a road. The present invention comprises: supports erecting vertical to the ground at regular intervals and having a through hole penetrating the support inward from an outer surface; a rope passing through the through hole of the support and installed to be transverse; and a fixing connector coupled to the outer circumference of the rope penetrating the support and fixing the rope in the support. Therefore, the fence support and the transverse member can be simply assembled and installed.
