PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the reliability of connection between a connection terminal and an outside electrode, by enhancing force with which the connection terminal grips a sensor element.SOLUTION: A gas sensor comprises: a sensor element that includes a solid electrolyte body formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape extending a bottom portion to a tip end side and made from a solid electrolyte, an outside electrode provided on an outer surface of the tip end portion of the solid electrolyte, and an outer lead portion provided so as to extend from the outside electrode to a rear end portion side on the outer surface of the solid electrolyte body; and a connection terminal that includes a lead wire for taking out a detection signal of the sensor element, and a cylindrical portion capable of elastically deforming in a radial direction and fitted in a rear end portion outer surface of the sensor element to contact with the outer lead portion, and electrically connects the outside electrode and the lead wire through the cylindrical portion. The cylindrical portion has a stiffness applying portion provided so as to extend in a circumferential direction of the cylindrical portion, and enhancing reaction force generated when the cylindrical portion is expanded to the outside in the radial direction, by improving the stiffness of the cylindrical portion. |
