PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive multicolor EC display element.SOLUTION: An electrochromic display element comprises: a display electrode; a counter electrode arranged opposite to and with distance from the display electrode; an electrolyte between both electrodes; and, on a surface of the display electrode at a counter electrode side, a display layer in which an organic electrochromic compound is carried on the surface of conductive or semiconductor fine particles. The plurality of display layers are laminated in which the conductive or semiconductor fine particles have a primary particle diameter of 1 nm or more and 10 nm or less and are different in content from each other. |
