PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device in which when a human body detection part, which detects a user and restores the image forming device from a power saving mode, is not normally operated, the cause thereof is identified so as to reduce useless serviceman calls.SOLUTION: A CPU 201 of an image forming device 102: stores, when restoring from the sleep mode in response to human body detection by a human body detection part 204 or depression of a power-saving button 215 (Yes at S503), a temperature measured by a temperature measurement part 214 in a RAM 203 (S504); counts the number thereof (S506) when the sleep restoration is caused by depression of the power-saving button 215 (Yes at S505); determines that malfunction occurs at the human body detection part 204 when the counted number exceeds a first threshold value (Yes at S508); compares a second threshold value with the stored temperature (S509); identifies a cause of the malfunction of the human body detection part 204 in accordance with the comparison result (S510, S511); and notifies it (S512). |
