PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary cooling method for continuous casting, by which cast metal is uniformly cooled by reducing stagnant water at a guide roll position, consequently cast metal of superior quality is produced.SOLUTION: There is provided a secondary cooling method for cooling a cast slab 3 during continuous casting, by spraying cooling water 12 toward the cast slab 3 casted by a continuous casting apparatus 1. In the secondary cooling method, a spraying direction of a nozzle 11 for spraying the cooling water 12 is rotated to an in-plane direction of a spraying surface 22 so that a longitudinal direction of the spraying surface 22 of the cooling water 12 toward the cast slab 3 is inclined, and an inclination of the longitudinal direction of the spraying surface 22 is alternately in reverse direction per row of the cast slab 3 in a width direction. |
