PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting insert having maximally easy machinability, and optimizing its edge from a viewpoint of a property of a generating tip in an operation state.SOLUTION: The cutting insert forms a plurality of edges spaced apart in the tangential direction, and the individual edges are branched off from an outside boundary line in an inside boundary line of a chamfering surface so as to descend in an arch shape over the lowest point from a first end part nearest to a reference surface of an upper part, to rise toward a second end part from the lowest point and to also increase a width of the chamfering surface in the direction for turning to its second end part from the first end part of the edges. |
