PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defect detection system and a defect detection method capable of detecting a defect inside a clad material without applying a load to the clad material to be inspected by using an eddy current flaw detection method.SOLUTION: The defect detection system includes a detection coil 14 for detecting a defect of a linear clad material 12 and is configured so that the linear clad material 12 penetrates and passes through an internal space of the detection coil 14 in an axial direction of the detection coil 14, and a value obtained by dividing a cross sectional area of the linear clad material 12 by a cross sectional area of the internal space of the detection coil 14 is 0.035 or more. The defect detection method includes a passage step in which the linear clad material 12 penetrates and passes through the internal space of the detection coil 14 for detecting the defect of the linear clad material 12 in the axial direction of the detection coil 14, and in the method, a value obtained by dividing the cross sectional area of the linear clad material 12 by the cross sectional area of the internal space of the detection coil is 0.035 or more. |
