PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper money handling apparatus and a paper money handling method capable of enhancing the security and eliminating troublesome tasks to move paper moneys as preparation for change between a front region and a backyard region by saving the paper money at plural different places (for example, a paper money handling apparatus placed in a front region and a currency handling apparatus placed in a backyard region) during night.SOLUTION: A control section 50 of the paper money handling apparatus 10 is configured, when a first cassette (a recycle cassette 42) is set in a cassette storage 40, to take out the paper money from the storing and feeding units 28, to convey the paper money stored in the respective storing and feeding units 28 to the first cassette with a conveyance unit 24, to store the paper money in the first cassette, and to selectively execute a saving mode to save the paper money in the first cassette. |
