A system for visualizing an optical signal OS through linear optical sampling, comprising at least one first subsystem relating to the processing of a pulse signal SP and at least one second subsystem related to the processing of an optical signal OS. The signals are broken down into two orthogonal polarization components, called vertical and horizontal. The pulse signal SP is broken down into vertical Vsp and horizontal Hsp components, and the magnetic TM and electric TE transverse propagation modes of the optical signal OS respectively give the vertical Vtm and Vte components and horizontal Htm and Hte components. The vertical and horizontal components are time-shifted. The vertical components and horizontal components of the pulse signal SD and optical signal OS are parallel. The successive, synchronized detection of a vertical components and horizontal components makes it possible to sample the signal OS, which is visualized by electronic processing.
|
