PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and program capable of efficiently performing recognition of a different sales-type commodity.SOLUTION: An information processing apparatus includes: capturing means for capturing images photographed by imaging means; extraction means for extracting the feature amount of a commodity included in the photographed images; recognition means for comparing the feature amount extracted by the extraction means with the feature amounts of reference commodities to be the references to recognize the reference commodity having a value indicating the relation between both feature amounts equal to or more than a predetermined value as a candidate for the commodity; determination means for determining whether or not a different sales-type commodity sold in a different sales type is present for the reference commodity recognized as the candidate by the recognition means; and output means for selectively outputting, when the different sales-type commodity is determined to be present, information related to the reference commodity recognized as the candidate by the recognition means and the different sales-type commodity for the reference commodity.
