PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a vehicle headlight that prevents switching of a light distribution pattern of the vehicle headlight to a residential area mode.SOLUTION: A control device 1 of a vehicle headlight 4, which on the basis of detected vehicle speed, controls switching of a light distribution pattern of a vehicle headlight 4 between respective patterns of a usual mode in a light distribution variable control state, an off mode in a low beam state and a residential area mode of high beam light distribution that does not dazzle a pedestrian, comprises: vehicle-speed determination means S6 for determining whether or not the detected speed is in a predetermined vehicle-speed range allowing the light distribution pattern to be switched to the residential area mode; and control mode determination means S8 and S10 for determining whether or not the last execution state in controlling the switching of the light distribution pattern was in the usual mode. When the vehicle-speed determination means S6 determines that the detected speed is in the predetermined vehicle-speed range and the control mode determination means S8 and S10 determine that the last execution state in controlling the switching of the light distribution pattern is in the usual mode, switching of the mode of the light distribution pattern is prohibited. |
