PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure engine startability while making motor performance and environmental performance compatible with each other.SOLUTION: Motor torque generated on a motor shaft 102 of an electric motor 4 is eliminated after balanced with magnetic holding torque of the electric motor 4 and cam torque transmitted from a cam shaft 2, by on/off controlling upper switching elements FU, FV and FW and lower switching elements GU, GV and GW after stopping an internal combustion engine ENG. When unbalance of the torques on the motor shaft 102 is expected after the motor torque is eliminated, specific two elements among the lower switching elements GU, GV and GW of three-column arms AU, AV and AW, are limited as objects to be turned on. The specific two elements are lower switching elements of two selected arms in which the upper switching elements FU, FV and FW or the lower switching elements GU, GV and GW are switched on in electric conduction corresponding to an actual rotating position &thetas;mr of the motor shaft 102. |
