PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insertion detection type plug socket that consumes no standby power and that can eliminate malfunctions.SOLUTION: An insertion detection type plug socket comprises: an authentication system 7 for authenticating information on an IC chip; a relay 5 extended from the authentication system 7 and installed in a connection circuit 3 connecting between a blade receptacle fitting 2 and a power supply; a detection terminal 6 for detecting insertion of a plug blade A into the blade receptacle fitting 2; and a detection circuit 6a for communicating information detected by the detection terminal to the authentication system 7. When the plug blade A is inserted into the blade receptacle fitting 2 incorporated in a plug socket main body 1, the plug blade A and the detection terminal 6 are mechanically contacted with each other and short-circuited, and the short circuit is detected. The authentication system 7 activates the relay 5 only in a case that the information on the IC chip is authenticated in a state that the plug blade A is inserted, and thereby, the blade receptacle fitting and the power supply are made in a conduction state. |
