The bolt (1) has a bolt shaft (11) whose diameter is smaller than diameter of a bolt head (12). A recess (13) is formed below the bolt head. The bolt head is attached to the bolt shaft. The recess is formed along a peripheral portion of the bolt shaft and formed in a deformation reservoir for component material of an edge area of a component hole. The bolt head is placed on a shaft end face (123) and provided with an undercut part (121), where ends of the bolt shaft and the bolt head are chamfered with each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for caulking a caulkable bolt.
