[Also in Division B5] A bonded fleece of continuous synthetic non-cellular filaments is provided with antislip and abrasion-resistant properties by coating with a natural or synthetic latex or a plastics material, either before or after an embossing treatment at the same surface. The web is subsequently bonded to a top layer for use as a floor-covering. The coating may be applied foamed, e.g. by spraying or by doctor blade, and may include pigments or fillers. Examples of binder and filament materials are given. The finished floor-covering may additionally be provided with anti-slip properties by spraying with rubber latex after the component layers have been bonded.</p> |
