PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin having a combination of at least 2 or more characteristics of high impact strength, hydrolytic stability, chemical resistance, toughness, medium glass transformation temperature (Tg), long half-crystallization time, low ductility-fragility transition temperature, good color and transparency, and lower density and the like.SOLUTION: As an embodiment of the invention, polyesters containing (a) a dicarboxylic acid component having a terephthalic acid residue of 70 to 100 mol% and an aromatic dicarboxylic acid residue or an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid residue of 30 mol% or less, and (b) a glycol component having 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol residue of 11 to 25 mol% and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol residue of 75 to 89 mol% are described and total mol% of the dicarboxylic acid component is 100 mol% and total mol% of the glycol component is 100 mol%. Articles can be manufactured from these polyesters. |
