PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily and promptly manufacturing a solid electrolytic capacitor improved in thermal resistance.SOLUTION: The method includes: a preparation step of preparing a polymerization liquid containing a solvent formed from water in 100 to 80 mass% and an organic solvent in 0 to 20 mass%, at least one kind of supporting electrolyte and at least one kind of monomer having a &pgr;-conjugate double bond of 0.03 mole or more with respect to one litter of the solvent; and a polymerization step of leading a positive electrode for a solid electrolytic capacitor including an aluminum layer and an aluminum-oxide coating provided on a surface of the aluminum layer, and a counter electrode into the polymerization liquid, applying electric charges to the aluminum layer in the positive electrode and the counter electrode, and performing constant current electrolytic polymerization with a current density in a range of 0.2 to 15 μA per surface area of 1 cmof the aluminum layer, thereby forming a conductive polymer layer on the aluminum-oxide coating of the positive electrode. |
