PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film having an alignment layer appropriately formed on a retardation layer to which a fluorine compound is added, and to provide a transfer body for an optical film, an image display device, and a method for producing an optical film.SOLUTION: An optical film has a layered structure including a substrate comprising a transparent film, an optical functional layer comprising a linearly polarizing plate that functions as a linearly polarizing plate, and an optical functional layer comprising a circularly polarizing plate that functions as a circularly polarizing plate. The optical functional layer comprising a circularly polarizing plate has a multi-layered structure including at least: a retardation layer as a half-wave plate, which imparts a retardation corresponding to a half wavelength to transmitted light; a retardation layer as a quarter-wave plate, which imparts a retardation corresponding to a quarter wavelength to the transmitted light; and an alignment layer disposed between the retardation layer as a half-wave plate and the retardation layer as a quarter-wave plate. The retardation layer as a half-wave plate and the retardation layer as a quarter-wave plate are formed by curing a resin for forming a retardation layer, and the alignment layer is formed by curing a resin for forming an alignment layer. A fluorine compound is added to the resin for forming a retardation layer and to the resin for forming an alignment layer.
