摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a negative electrode material for a lithium ion battery, which is a substance including an Si-based alloy as a base and has high capacity and long cycle life.SOLUTION: There is provided a negative electrode material for a lithium ion battery, which is a composite alloy with three phases or more including: a composite alloy comprising an Si single phase and an Si-Al-M alloy phase (M represents one or two or more selected from among a transition metal and group IV and V metals); and an L phase (L represents one or two or more metals selected from among In, Sn, Sb, Pb and Mg). High capacity and long life can be achieved by the negative electrode material of the present invention. Further, the conductivity of a material itself is high, and energy density per volume when used in a battery can be also increased. Accordingly, the negative electrode material for a lithium ion battery can be suitably used as a negative electrode material for a lithium ion battery for an electric automobile or the like that requires large capacity and durability.
