PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing fuel cell, capable of suppressing disappearance of gas diffusion layer elasticity due to a heating press in manufacturing a single cell.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a fuel cell includes the following steps of: (a) arranging a first and a second gas diffusion layer, respectively, on both surfaces of a membrane electrode assembly, to form a membrane electrode gas diffusion layer assembly; (b) holding the membrane electrode gas diffusion layer assembly with a pair of separator plates; (c) arranging a thermal hardening sealer in a peripheral part of the membrane electrode gas diffusion layer assembly which is between the pair of separator plates; (d) semi-curing the thermal hardening seal by performing a thermal press with compression between the pair of separator plates, so that the adhesion between the thermal hardening sealer and the pair of separator plates would not come off when the compression is released; and (e) heating between the pair of separator plates with a temperature lower than that for the thermal press without compression to further harden the thermal hardening seal. |
