PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band plate take-up device and a take-up method capable of obtaining a toroidal core having an internal diameter equal to an external diameter of a winding core and near a complete circle.SOLUTION: A band plate take-up device 10 comprises: a cylindrical winding core 13 having a slit 13c, into which a band plate 12 can be inserted, and made movable in the axial direction; a winding core rotary drive mechanism 20 for rotationally driving the winding core 13 by a first servo motor 21; a retaining rod 26 inserted over the entire length into the winding core 13, made rotatable on the center of rotation of the winding core in the inserted state and having a clearance 26a formed therein; and a retaining rod rotational drive mechanism for driving the retaining rod 26 rotationally by a second servo motor. The clearance 26a is formed between a portion of the outer circumference of the retaining rod 26 and the inner circumference of the winding core 13. The retaining rod rotational drive mechanism has functions to rotate the retaining rod 26 with respect to the winding core 13, which is rotated by the winding core rotary drive mechanism 20, and to rotate the winding core 13 and the retaining rod 26 synchronously in the same direction, and to rotate only the retaining rod 26 in the reverse direction with respect to the winding core 13. |
