PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to easily control a used amount of a color material.SOLUTION: An optical measurement value is acquired by using a printed image, and a deviation amount which represents a deviation between the optical measurement value and a predetermined reference value is determined, then a control value to control the used amount of a color material in printing is determined by using the deviation amount. Correspondence between the optical measurement values and the determined deviation amounts is configured as follows: a first optical measurement value pair which is composed of two optical measurement values acquired by using an image printed using a predetermined color material is associated with a first deviation amount pair which is composed of two deviation amounts; a second optical measurement value pair which is composed of two optical measurement values acquired by using an image printed using a predetermined color material is associated with a second deviation amount pair which is composed of the two deviation amounts; a difference in values between the first optical measurement value pair is different form a difference in values between the second optical measurement value pair; and a difference in values between the first deviation amount pair is the same as a difference in values between the second deviation amount pair. |
