The application relates to a vessel closure made of metal or plastic for a vessel to receive foodstuffs or beverages under vacuum and at room temperature and below during filling and/or storage, having a sealing insert made of a sealing material which comprises at least one polymer (with the exception of halogen-containing polymers, e.g. PVC) in a mixture with further substances, characterized in that, at 20° C, the sealing material exhibits a Shore A hardness of at most 90 and a compression set (DVR) of at most 40% and, at 4° C, exhibits a Shore A hardness of at most 100 and a DVR of at most 50%. |
