Disclosed are a device and a method for building a wind power generator. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the device for building a wind power generator comprises a chain hoist in the upper area of a tower to build a wind power generator with a nacelle on the top of the tower; and a chain wound on the chain hoist to lift an object on the lower area of the tower to the upper area of the tower. The chain includes a plurality of chain assemblies of which the chain rings are connected to each other into a predetermined length; and a link to interconnect the chain assemblies to be detached from each other.
