PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery and a lithium ion secondary battery excellent in charging/discharging characteristics.SOLUTION: The negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary battery is composed of a collector and a negative electrode active material layer that coats a surface of the collector. The negative electrode active material layer contains a negative electrode active material containing silicon, silane modified polyamide-imide, containing an alkoxyl group, whose weight average molecular weight (Mw) is 5,000 or over and 70,000 or less, and high molecular weight polyamide imide whose weight average molecular weight (Mw) is 70,000 or over and 160,000 or less. |
