PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator system which can inform it reliably to the outside that a passenger is confined in the cage of an elevator, even when a major earthquake occurs.SOLUTION: An elevator system comprises a detection device 6 and a monitoring system 5. The detection device 6 detects that a passenger is confined in a cage 7 of an elevator 3. When the confinement is detected by the detection device 6, the monitoring system 5 transmits first confinement information to an information center 1 connected by a communication line 4. When the first confinement information is not received by the information center 1, moreover, the monitoring system 5 calls the telephone to a communication center 10 connected by a telephone line 11, and registers second confinement information in a message registration device 13. |
