The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a packaging container that can be industrially mass-produced, that can be used as Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) while ensuring sealing performance, and that allows contents to be displayed in a three-dimensional manner; a packaged product that is contained in said packaging container; and a manufacturing method and manufacturing apparatus for said packaging container. This packaging container has: a container body having a bottom surface and side walls, and having a flange at the top edge periphery of the side walls; and a lid that is heat-sealed to the flange. The lid comprises a film or a sheet. One set of opposing side walls has the same shape, and at least part of the top edge of said one set of side walls is positioned higher than the top edge of the other one set of opposing side walls.
