The sensor (1) has a first metallic material (4) and a second metallic material (5). The intermetallic phase (6) and phase boundary are formed between the first and second metallic materials. The thickness (d) of the intermetallic phase and the position of the phase boundary are determined for determining the temperature and the operating time of the electrical component. The metallic materials are made of copper, tin, brass, gold and aluminum. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) electrical component; and (2) method for detecting temperature and operating time of electrical component.
