The device has an injection valve (20) provided for introducing liquid (12) into an exhaust passage (50) of an internal combustion engine. A baffle plate (30) is provided in the exhaust passage that is arranged at the injection valve opposite position. The baffle plate comprises a jet impact surface (33) impinging the liquid upon actuation of the injection valve. The jet impact surface of the baffle plate tapers in flow direction of an exhaust gas in the exhaust passage, where the baffle plate is made of a stainless steel.
