The motor vehicle body has a decorative element (11) with a metallic reflecting layer (16), where the decorative element covers a lamp (13) with the translucent layer. The translucent layer is a metallic layer with thickness less than 100 nanometers. The layer is deposited on a support body (12) of the decorative element by vapor deposition, particular by physical vapor deposition. The layer is formed on an outer surface or on an inner surface of the transparent support body. The decorative element is attached at an outer wall element (5) of the body.
