<p>The counter has frame portions (4a-4e) on which windshield units (6a-6e) having vertical plate elements (12a-12e) and horizontal plate elements (10a-10e) are located. A longitudinal edge of the vertical plate element is connected to longitudinal edge of the horizontal plate element. A linear guide is arranged for vertical displacement of front plate element. A pivot joint has locking device that secures front window unit in closed and/or open position for presenting and selling of food. An independent claim is included for modular counter system.</p>
