The communication method may include: at least one of sending a data unit or receiving a data unit; wherein the data unit is a null-data packet (NDP) and includes at least a physical layer (PHY) header; wherein the PHY header includes a plurality of fields; and wherein the plurality of fields include a sub-type field with at least 3 bits indicating a NDP sub-type of the data unit.
