The invention relates to a protection device for a pressure transducer in a blood treatment machine. Conventional transducer-protection devices are not easy to mount on the treatment machine since they provide the user with hardly any gripping surface. In the claimed transducer-protection device, the housing comprising the anti-contamination barrier can be taken hold of on the main surface as it is mounted, and inserted into the machine. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that the connector axes and the housing comprising said anti-contamination barrier lie in parallel planes that are arranged perpendicularly to the surface of the device following assembly. This orientation allows both sides of the anti-contamination barrier to be visible laterally from the front during operation such that any rupture of the anti-contamination barrier can be easily identified by the user.
