The interior element (10) is formed form a selected material layer (11) having an outer surface, which forms a front side (33) of the interior element. A lighting device (13) is arranged at a rear side (34) of the interior element. Multiple insert elements (12) formed form a translucent material extend from the rear side to the front side of the interior element and are coupled with the lighting device. The insert elements are arranged in the form of a decorative stitching. The lighting device has multiple physically separated light units coupled with the insert elements. The material layer is partially constructed from leather, synthetic leather, wood, metal, ceramic, textile or a knitted fabric, a plastic or a composite material.
