The present invention relates to an angle sequencer for accurately controlling the top dead center stop position of a press machine in real time and a method of controlling the top dead center stop position of the press machine. In an apparatus for controlling the top dead center stop position of a press machine according to the present invention, an encoder (9) for detecting a rotation angle of a crank shaft (9) is included. In addition, an angle sequencer (46) is included, wherein the angle sequencer (46) receives a detection signal of the encoder (9), visibly shows an angle of the crank shaft (9) or the stop position of the slide (31), and controls an operating time point of a sol valve by taking into consideration an amount of slip of the crank shaft, so that the slide (31) stops at the top dead center stop point. A controller (43) detects a position (θx) of the crank shaft at a time point at which a cut off signal of the sol valve is generated for a brake operation when the operation of the press is stopped and an actual stop position (θy) of the crank shaft, calculates an amount (θs) of the slip of the crank shaft corresponding to the difference between the position (θx) and the actual stop position (θy), using the amount (θs) of the slip of the crank shaft as an offset amendment amount (θa), and generate the cut off signal of the sol valve for the stop operation of the press at the time point at which the crank shaft reaches a position prior to the top center stop position by the offset amendment amount (θa) in terms of time.
