Embodiments of the invention are directed to systems, methods and computer program products for gift card redemption. An exemplary apparatus is configured to: receive information associated with a gift card, the gift card associated with a merchant; associate the gift card with the account; transmit a redemption request to an entity, the redemption request for redeeming funds associated with the gift card; and receive funds associated with the gift card from the entity, wherein the funds are not restricted to purchases associated with the merchant. |
