[Class 122 (i)] [Also in Group XXI] In an air-gun, a pump for charging a storage-chamber f with compressed air comprises a piston h<4> in a cylinder h, the pistonhead having a rubber packing of cup-washer form in which is embedded a metal ring h<7> of wedge crosssection. The pump is designed to charge the storage-chamber by a single reciprocating stroke,. and at the end of each pressure stroke a conical plug h<6> mounted on the pistonhead abuts against a seating c<2> and forces the ring h<7> into the rubber packing so as to expand it. The pump cylinder is thus effectively sealed. |
