The invention relates to an Li-S battery comprising a cathode that contains an electrically-conductive carbon material, an electrochemically-active cathode material that contains or consists of sulphur, and/or at least partially filamentary plastic; a) an anode containing a conductive substrate which is coated with silicon and/or tin in at least some sections; and b) a lithium-containing liquid electrolyte, gel-electrolyte and/or solid electrolyte arranged between said cathode and anode. The invention also relates to a method for operating same.
